Nagi waits just inside the lobby of the hospital as he watches for his ride to pull up. He's got a backpack over one shoulder, and he looks as presentable as he could manage in the hospital bathroom. He's still wearing the same clothes from the night of the firebombing, but he's not sure how messy his planned excursion will get. The breeze from the door opening and closing makes him notice the smell of smoke hanging from his clothes. It bothers him.

The closest thing he's gotten to good news in three days is that if Serena is still alive now, she'll probably survive. It's not exactly encouraging, but it's better than nothing.

Except not really. It's a good thing he gets to go kill people today.

[[NOTE: THERE WILL BE HAPPY SHINY VIOLENCE IN THIS THREAD.]]

It's kind of hard to miss Francis' car. It's a flashy red sports car. He's not really about the subtly there.

He pulls up into the circle at the hospital, stepping out to stretch. Francis actually looks pretty well put together today, which is ironic, considering he really hopes he won't look so nice once they get done.

"You got everything you need?" he asks, leaning against the car. "I'm ready to get the hell out of here. They won't arrest me for kidnapping or nothing, will they?"

Nagi heads for the car, because it really is the ride he was clearly waiting for.

"Now you wonder if we should be sneaky." Nagi thinks Francis is a moron. However he's a moron who is about to teach Nagi how to use a weapon, so Nagi will deal.

Nagi's voice is just a little scratchy, but it's not enough for him to care all that much. He's got a bottle of water. He'll be fine. "I doubt it. Let's go anyway before anyone thinks to wonder."

"Right," Francis says, ducking back in the car and buckling up. "Sometimes it's easy to forget that you're a ward of the state." Or a kid. Sometimes it's hard for Francis to remember Nagi's a kid. He doesn't act like it half the time, even if he was a brat.

He waits for Nagi to get comfortable before starting up. "You can throw your backpack in the back." He jabs his thumb towards the backseat, which has a nice stash of weapons, hand guns to assault rifles to knives and a shotgun.

"Once I get a computer I can falsify a birth certificate that says I'm however old I need to be to be an emanicpated minor." Nagi drops his backpack, making sure it doesn't land on anything sharp. It currently contains all his worldly possessions. "And if I'm lucky, I can dodge fosterhomes until then."

Nagi isn't sure why, but he kind of wants to finish the school year. That will make his life more complicated. He avoids thinking about it by dealing with his seatbelt.

"Spoiled brat," Francis says, merging into another lane. He's thinking about having to forge documents before computers existed. It was a lot harder. And a lot easier at the same time. Still. Well, things are different in this day and age to say the least. Sometimes, Francis is surprised he doesn't get more curmudgeonly more often.

"So I think I'm gonna start you off with a handgun," Francis adds. "I got a nice tip from one of my cousins that there's a nest on the other side of the lake. Why the idiots just don't get to Chicago is beyond me. But still. I'll clean out their ratsnest either way. We'll start with target practice and then we'll take out the stragglers as we go."

"Sounds like fun." Nagi hopes he gets a chance to play a little bit. Making people scream is far more satisfying than just destroying trees or something.

Nagi's stomach gurgles, reminding him that he's been living on unacceptable rations. "Think we can hit a drive-thru on the way?"

"What kind of fast food do you want?" Francis asks, getting on the highway. "As long as you give me enough notice to get off in time, yeah, I guess we can do that."

Francis is more than positive this trip is going to be fun. It's been a long time since he's been hunting with someone else. And as he never raised his own kid, he never got to do any of this stuff.

Not that Nagi is comparable to Morgan. Not that he'd ever think of him that way.

He's just... in a pinch. Being stuck in Chicago.

"I want the kind that's food." Nagi is possibly the least picky eater ever. "Meat's good, but most of them have that." He shrugs. "I dunno. What's good? I'm still not totally used to American fast food."

Nagi really does think of Francis as slightly more sane version of Farfarello. This is different though. Usually, Nagi had to help hunt down Farf after a killing spree. He was never invited along to play. Schuldig was always the one who wanted Nagi to play, but Schu's games were always annoyingly subtle.

"You're the one that's hungry," Francis argues. "You pick where we're going to eat."

It's really not fair that Nagi's going to ask for food and then dodge out on picking it. Francis isn't really hungry. For food. But that's beside the point. He'd grab a burger if they stop at a fast food joint; actually, he probably could stand to eat. He just has bigger things on his mind.

The more he thinks about it, the more he realizes he is hungry.

Nagi rolls his eyes. "Okay, but don't blame me if I pick a place for a reputation for having frogs in their tacos or something."

Nagi stares out the window for a bit and watches signs go by. "Umm... McDonalds. Because that's what there's the most of." And Nagi knows that they're usually fast. Would they be breakfast menu or regular by now? Not that Nagi cares even that much.

"Hey, frog can be pretty good," Francis argues, getting to the exit lane. He can already see a McDonalds. They are like... even five blocks around here. And of course there's a line in the drive through.

"You wanna stay in the car, or you wanna hop inside? It'll probably be faster to go inside, but it'll be easier to just stay in the car."

It was the American dilemma.

"You mean they get the orders right for the drive-thru? Really? That's soooo weird."

Nagi thinks for about half a second before his stomach gurgles again. "Inside. I want food now. You're paying, right?"

"I don't know," Francis says, shrugging. He doesn't go through drive-thrus pretty much except when he's on his way out of town. He pulls into a parking spot and stretches, letting himself out of the car.

"Yeah, I'm paying," Francis says. The more he thinks about it, the more he realizes he is hungry. He steps into the fast food chain and stands, looking at their menu. Maybe three double cheeseburgers? This food was so unhealthy.

Nagi watches as Francis stretches, trying to guess just how healthy Francis actually is at this point. He won't say anything, but he'll keep an eye out. That's part of the sort of team work he trained in.

Delicious, greasy, unhealthy food. Or rather, Nagi doesn't care as long as it's food in large quantitites. That's why he's going to order four double cheeseburgers, two supersized fries, a supersized drink and a bunch of cookies.

He's probably going to save some of it as a snack for later. Like maybe two of the cookies.

"Make that seven double cheeseburgers and four fries and a bottle of water," Francis interjects. He pulls out his phone as he goes to pay the nice teenager behind the counter. He's got a map there, and some info from Boston. They'd have plenty of fun. They had several choices, and Francis would lay them before the kid after he'd gotten some food in his stomach.

It wasn't like they didn't have a nice drive before them anyway.

Francis was just hoping Nagi wouldn't shoot him on accident.

"We gonna eat in here or in the car?" Nagi has no problem with eating in the car, but Francis seems to have an unnatural level of carlove, so it's good to ask.

Nagi watches the tray for their order as if he can will the food to appear there more quickly. Nagi is starving. He needs foooood. Make the food be ready!

"We can eat in the car as long as you don't get grease all over the leather," Francis says, still going through the information on his phone. "Although, I guess we're not on as much of a tight schedule anymore, huh?"

The food was finally ready, and Francis grabbed one of the bags, sneaking a french fry out of it as they walk back to the car.

Nagi grabs the rest of the food and there's nothing sneaky about how he's getting fries from the bag. "Maybe not, but I still wanna do stuff." Om nom nom!

Since Nagi doesn't need to use his hands to do things like open a car door or fasten his seatbelt, there's little chance he'll get greasy fingerprints on Francis' car. Well, not by accident. But he's feeling nice today!

He better be feeling nice, considering Francis is taking him on a hunting trip. And Francis doesn't like to hunt with other people. Nagi's just a special case today. And if he gets in Francis' way, well, Francis'll take care of things. Quickly, and efficiently, rather than having fun.

"So, I've got info on two different situations in Michigan," Francis says. "Thought I'd let you pick which one we take care of.today."

He opened his car door, getting in the driver's seat and strapping himself in. Once the car was started, he reached over, unwrapping a hamburger. "Unless you don't want the choice, of course."

Someday, Nagi might tell Francis about exams at Rosenkreuz. Today isn't the day, but even if Nagi completely fails with using a gun, he won't get in the way. He might accidentally steal most of Francis' fun.

"Never had a choice before," Nagi mumbles around a mouthful of burger. "What are the options?"

"We've got three teenaged Behemoths holed up near the lake," Francis says after managing to the overly large bite he took. "They're likely to be incredibly violent and a lot of fun to play with."

He digs through the bag grabbing some fries and trying to pay attention to the road at the same time.

"Or there's a teme and a pol hanging out as well. They're gonna be more dangerous in the long run, though. Either way, it's your call. They both bleed."

That's not very many people to kill at all. "Is there time for both? I could get the gun practice on the pair, and then we could play with the trio after."

"Temes are the nightmare ones, right? What's a pol?" Nagi would really enjoy killing a teme since he's still got that nightmare and he's not so sure it's from his own mind. Actually, he'd enjoy killing a teme slowly, but he doesn't want to pass up the gun lesson.

Hey, if Nagi wants to shoot the teme in the knee and then slowly kill her while she's suffering, Francis doesn't really see an issue with that. Demons aren't people, after all.

"I like your choice," he says, smiling to himself. "And yeah. Temes are the nightmare ones. Południca make you sick. You know, epidemics and all that? They're usually behind 'em. Sometimes they'll even make you sick on accident. Better to kill it first and ask questions later."

Not that Francis usually asked questions before killing anyway.

But Francis wants blood on his hands, and while Nagi's gonna be learning to shoot, he's going to be playing with a knife. So it wouldn't be nearly as fun if Nagi was learning to shoot to kill. More to disable.

"And once you get better with the gun, and I'm not hurting, we can go play with bigger prey."

Nagi's fairly sure the difference between shooting to kill and to disable is in where you aim, though he could be wrong. The important part is the skill set.

"I don't need to be good with a gun to be able to kill bigger stuff. You probably do need to heal more though."

"Are you gonna teach me how to load them and stuff, too?" It's pretty stupid to know how to shoot a gun, but not how to put more bullets in it.
