A tired Roll makes her way to the Sign area. "Well, I'd meant to do this earlier, but things have just been too busy to get everything organized. Better late than never." "Next week we're hoping to have a Nexus Harvest Party here. There will be a lot of free, non-LOLed food... we need to get rid of an overabundance of vegetables. There will also be jams and jellies, corn-dogs, and other such things." "What are your favorite harvest-time treats?" Current Mood: tired |

As usual when he visits this place, Hank reclines in his favorite chair. He's pondering the nature of some of his relationships in the past few years. Hank asks, "Do you think it's possible for men to be struck by paternal instincts?" |

Kara enters the nexus once again, still wearing the helmet that Ali had gotten for her. Her feet don't touch the ground. It appears that she's practicing hovering in different directions as she had mastered walking when she was quite young. She carries with her a rolled up piece of paper. "Does anyone know how to make clothes?" She unrolls the paper and it has a drawing of a costume, complete with red boots. "I found out information about my cousin and he dresses like this only more masculine. I thought if I had a suit like his, maybe the news would take notice and then he'd be looking for me as well as me looking for him." She holds up her red, blue and yellow blankets. "I have the materials." Then she asks a question for everyone else. "What's your favorite outfit?" ((Will be around on and off through the weekend)) |

After a brief absence from this area of the Nexus, a portal opens and a Jubilee enters. She is pushing a large box of canned goods. With a glance up to make sure she is not pushing the box over anybody (or any sentient thing), Jubilee pushes the box to a couch. She flips over a sign that reads, " The Great Nexus Food Drive: Need food? Take what you require. Have an abundance? Give what you can. No LOL'd items please". Then she sits by her box, looking after it for a moment. Her question seems to be holiday oriented. "Every notice how you just get through celebrating one holiday, and then all the sudden the next seems to come flying at you. Man already I am seeing Christmas decorations and songs all around me, in my adopted dimension." "For a general question, how do you make the most of a day, when something else seems to be pushed on you from all directions?" (This part locked from ready2believeu) "As well, I have been plotting." She glances around, dropping her voice. "I mean what could I possible buy for a sweet, adorable, understanding boyfriend who is really science smart. Especially when I am not? Ideas people! I need ideas!" |

In a less busy part of the Nexus, Faye is practising her swordsfighting skills, even if they seem basic to the Nexus at large. It would be better if she found an expert swordfighter, right? After several minutes, she has something to ask. "So... um... there wouldn't happen to be a swordfighting expert willing to take on an apprentice, is there? ...My girlfriend can only teach me so much, and her free time's limited..." Current Mood: hopeful |

The holidays
I generally hate the holidays with a passion because...well I started seeing Christmas stuff in stores on Sept 4th. So not kidding. But occasionally the little things make me like them again and usually these things are RP related. I run three games over on Scribbld (hey, 50 icons with a free account Marvel NextGen, DC NextGen and Exiles). I play a six year old in one of the games and since Christmas is coming whether or not I want it to, six year olds write letters to Santa if they believe in him. I remember how much of a big deal it was to my daughter when she was a little younger, so I was going to have my character write a letter to Santa. Then I thought about it for a second and thought about what my other characters would put in a letter if they were to write one. So I made it a very short writing/character exploring exercise for the comms. In all three games my players greeted this exercise with enthusiasm and wrote letters from their characters to Santa. I can't even begin to say how awesome the letters are. So I just wanted to give a shout out to my players and say how completely and utterly awesome you all are. |

Den looks a bit flustered as she settles into a Convenient Nexus Recliner. "Okay. suppose you went to school, did a few dumb things, wound up not going back the next year, and spent the next few years trying to make up for the dumb things you did when you were in school. Now suppose you've gone through a program designed to help you make up for the dumb things, and you did well for awhile and graduated that program. Fast forward about ten months after you get done with the program, you're out of work due to economy crap, and you've decided enough is enough. You apply at a school. The same school, in fact, that you did the dumb stuff at. You know you'll do better and not make the same dumb choices you did the first time 'round, but other people aren't willing to give you the chance to prove that you've grown up. How do you break the news to them that you got accepted at the school?" |
